Brinkley Station Townhouse Association (BSTA)
Enjoyment of the BSTA Community
There are times when we all like to have parties, celebrations and cookouts. There is nothing wrong with having a nice social gathering with our friends and relatives. But, lets be respectful to our neighbors and use good judgment common sense.
Please be mindful of your neighbors and remember that debris, litter, and excessive noise from lawful parties or picnics also affect your neighbors. Please help keep BSTA clean!
NOTICE OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
Parties or Gatherings of a Commercial Nature are Prohibited in Residential Zones
Prince George’s County wants to make sure that all of its citizens are able to use their property in a manner consistent with the peace, health, safety and general welfare of the County and their neighborhoods.
Activities that are generally prohibited in residential neighborhoods and zones include any event, gathering, party, or picnic that involves:
- Admission fees;
- Cover charges;
- Door charges;
- Entry fees;
- Ticket sales;
- Food or beverage sales;
- Adult entertainment charges, fees or sales;
- Personal profit to the homeowner or organizer of an event; or
- Is open to the general public.
Engaging in these types of activities may result in the County ordering the immediate closure of your event, and issuing citations or violation notices to the homeowner, tenant, or event organizer. Enforcement actions by the County may include the payment of fines, petitions for injunctive relief, or requests for other forms of relief from a court.
The Right of Quiet Enjoyment of Our Homes
Everybody makes noise occasionally, but we ask that all residents respect the right to the quiet enjoyment of their neighbors. Excessive loud or vulgar music/noise violates the BSTA governing documents related to “the right of quiet enjoyment of one premises” as well as the Prince George’s County Noise Control Ordinance.
The noise control ordinances/rules governing Prince George’s County Maryland if any of the following definitions apply (as listed under Section 19-121 – Definitions):
While there are laws to govern behavior, they do not govern common courtesy. All of us must have a spirit of common courtesy and cooperation for peaceful coexistence in our community.
